What is Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)?

You are more powerful than you realize.

Within you, you have the strength to solve the problems you face and create the life you want.

Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) focuses on finding solutions to challenges rather than dwelling on the problem itself.

You don’t need to be “fixed.” Instead, you need a little help finding what’s already working so you can do more of it.

How Solution-Focused Approaches Work

In SFBT, your therapist works with you to identify your goals and create a plan to achieve them. 

We take the process at a pace that challenges you but is still in a comfortable range, so you have actionable steps each week to take towards your goal.

Your therapist will also help you identify and enhance your strengths, and resources that you can use to reach your goals. Equally as important, you and your therapist will acknowledge, and celebrate (!) your progress along the way.

This approach can be helpful for people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and other life challenges.

Why Solution-Focused Therapy?

SFBT is a type of short-term therapy that you may be able to complete in as few as 6 to 12 sessions.

It offers a goal-oriented approach that can help you make rapid, actionable and behavioral progress towards dissolving what is holding you back.
